Welcome to our profile – we’re Matthew and Christy! We know that you are thinking of the future for your child and we can’t imagine what it must be like to be faced with the decision that you are making. We don’t know what might have brought you to this place but your love for your child and your strength are evident in the fact that you are here. We are thankful that you are taking the time to read our profile and hopeful that you will consider us as adoptive parents.
A little about us – we have been married for ten years and we met in Nashville, TN while Matthew was studying at Vanderbilt University. Our first date started with a cup of coffee and ended with Indian food with lots of conversation in between. We still enjoy conversations over coffee and sometimes a really interesting sci-fi book.
We moved to the Denver area about four years ago and decided to start a family but that just wasn’t in the cards. We started talking about adoption a couple of years ago and the more we talked about it, the more we felt it was the right option for us. Adoption has always been important in our families. Christy’s father was adopted, and Matthew and his brother were both adopted as infants. Matthew’s sister also adopted three beautiful children.
Matthew is a Physicist and Christy is currently studying environmental science, but she does plan to stay home once we take on the responsibility of a new baby. We have two border terriers named Phin and Rena and they have a cat sister named Anlar. We like to take our “furbabies” on walks around our property and in some of the nearby open spaces. We also sometimes enjoy riding our bikes on open space trails. Matthew likes to ride to the top of the mesas but mostly likes to zoom back down.
Christy has a small family spread between Tennessee and North Carolina, mainly made up of her three aunts. They think of her as their baby, so you can imagine how excited they are about the possibility of a new addition to the family. Matthew has a big family and they all live somewhat nearby in Kansas. His immediate family is made up of his parents, two siblings, three nieces and two nephews. In the last few years, we all have started taking family vacations together. Last summer, we all met in San Diego, CA and this summer, we will be hanging out together in Santa Fe, NM.
Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about us - we know that you are facing some tough choices and we are thankful you took the time to read a bit about us!
