Hi, we’re Jen and Jarod, and we share our home in Golden with two dogs (actually, they share it with us). We have been together for more than 12 years, living in three different countries during that time and Golden has been home for the last eight years. Depending on the season, a typical weekend might involve skiing, culinary experimentation, hiking, biking, attempting home renovations, camping, running, playing board games, planning our next trip, or even scheming our next prank on Jarod’s sisters.
Our dogs, Howie and Hans, are miniature and collectively weigh 15 pounds (this was definitely not by design). Hans was added to our family during our year living in South Korea (2008) while Howie entered the picture after a quick detour to the animal shelter turned into another warm body in our house in 2015.
Jen is a Colorado native and was adopted herself. She has one brother, who was also adopted, and one sister. When not knitting, kayaking, or reading in her hammock, she can be found at a local college performing her duties as a college administrator.
Jarod was raised in Western Maryland with his brother and three half-sisters. Not to be outdone by the Brady Bunch, he also has three half-brothers that were raised out of state. When not trail running, skiing, or finding any excuse to not sit still, Jarod helps manage an international engineering consulting firm as its COO.
Thank you for considering us as part of your adoption plan. We hope to hear from you and help any way we can throughout this process.
